Junior UKMT Challenge success

In April our Year 7s & Year 8s sat the annual Junior UKMT maths challenge. The questions were, as always, very tricky and tested a broad range of mathematical concepts and problem solving techniques. Our current Year 7s and Year 8s were not deterred and solidly worked their way through the paper.  Nationally, 40% of all the students who sit the challenge are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates. We did fantastically well with 80% of our pupils receiving certificates this year. As well as certificate winners, Hugh O’Donnell, Kasper Lootens, Theo Bannister, Archie Mount, Otto Stapely-O’Neill and Frederick McGrath qualified for the Junior Kangaroo. And to top that, Sebastian Tsang and Mohan Shroff qualified for the Junior Olympiad which is the highest level 2nd round.

Many congratulations to everyone who took part and good luck to all our Junior Kangaroo & Olympiad qualifiers who will sit their final rounds in June!
