On Wednesday 9th November, Year 6 visited the Islamic Gallery in the British Museum. We had an enthusiastic guide who talked to us and gave us an activity to do. We learnt about Islamic artwork and objects like lamps, vases and sculptures.
We also learnt that in Islam there are no statues or pictures of God, but that Islam uses use a lot of calligraphy, symmetry and geometry in its artwork. Overall the trip was very interesting.
