Last week, Year 1 visited the National Portrait Gallery to learn more about portraits. The children had the opportunity to study some of the portraits in depth and made their own versions. They learnt about the stories that paintings can tell and how we can learn lots about people simply from their portraits. The children even got to dress up as the rich people in the portraits!
When we returned to school we had lots of fun making our own self-portraits, using pencils, paint and even magazines!
