Forest School in Reception

Forest School is a highlight of our week in Reception! It is a valuable experience, allowing the children to grow holistically through regular sessions in an inspirational child-centered learning process. Play, supported risk taking and exploration are integrated throughout our sessions, helping to develop the children's confidence and self-esteem in a natural setting.

Forest School helps our children to develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and intellectually. It encourages the children to develop a meaningful connection to nature, and to understand how they fit within it. The supported risk taking allows children to build their self-belief and resilience. The ultimate goal of Forest School is for children to become healthy, resilient, creative and independent learners.

At our sessions you may see the children climbing trees, making paint from natural resources, hunting for minibeasts, playing games, using basic tools, and having lots of fun!

Forest School takes place in our very own Cathedral Gardens.
