The school day at SPCS is exciting and busy and therefore we encourage children in the Pre-Prep to relax at home in the evenings and share their news from the day with their families. Having said this, it is important that learning is consolidated and the children are prepared for the increase of demands in the Prep school, and therefore we operate the following homework policy for children in the Pre-Prep.

Reception

  • Reading for 20 minutes every night with an adult
  • Optional IPC based holiday projects

Year 1

  • Reading for 20 minutes every night with an adult
  • Weekly spellings to be learnt
  • Optional IPC based holiday projects
  • One weekly Maths/English Prep task in the Summer Term

Year 2

  • Reading for 20 minutes every night with an adult
  • Weekly spellings to be learnt
  • Optional IPC based holiday projects
  • One weekly Maths/English Prep task. 
  • Timestables/maths facts consolidation tasks or games.
