Year 1 had a wonderful time at East London and Essex Liberal Synagogue on Wednesday. They met Rabbi David, who showed the children the Ark where the Torah scrolls are kept. They used the special pointer stick – or yad – that is used to touch the scrolls and learnt about the story of Hannukah before lighting some candles on a menorah.
