Year 4 Football Take on Arnold House at Canon’s Park

On Tuesday afternoon, the Year 4 football team returned to Canon’s Park in the sunshine for another fixture against Arnold House.

From the first whistle to the last, every player gave their all — working tirelessly for one another and never giving up, whatever challenges came their way. Their commitment, energy, and willingness to battle for every ball were fantastic to see, and it was clear they were determined to represent the school in the best way possible.

The team showed real understanding of what it means to play for each other, constantly encouraging and supporting one another throughout the game. Just as impressive as their football was the way they embodied our school values: respect towards opponents, officials, and teammates; sportsmanship and tolerance at every stage; a drive for excellence through hard work and a positive attitude; and a real sense of community in how they celebrated one another’s efforts.

As a group, they were outstanding ambassadors for the school, and the pride they should take from this performance goes well beyond the result. Their courage, resilience, and togetherness were a wonderful reflection of the team’s character, and they deserve real praise for a commendable effort.

A special mention for Clementine, who scored the only goal of the match. We’d also like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Miss Dawson, who joined and supported the team for her final fixture with SPCS before starting her new role. Good luck, Miss Dawson!
