Welcome
Welcome to the Pre-Prep department, where every child is nurtured, encouraged and challenged to be the best they can be. Our busy and exciting curricula challenge the children to think broadly, consider others and ask questions and our excellent pastoral support ensures all children are cared for and happy throughout their schooling.
The Pre-Prep at St Paul’s Cathedral School consists of Reception and Key Stage One (Years 1 and 2). The Pre-Prep is currently one form entry, with expansion to two form entry beginning with another Reception class in 2021.
Class sizes are no bigger than 20, and each class has a full time Form teacher. Additionally, in Reception there are two full time Teaching Assistants and each Key Stage One class has one full time Teaching Assistant providing extra support for pupils.
Classes are based in Form Rooms, allocated side by side on one corridor. All classes benefit from views of the Cathedral and its Gardens.
Parental involvement in a child’s education is key, and regular and open parent-school communication is encouraged. Formally, there are also termly parents meetings or reports to provide regular progress updates. We welcome in families for many events across the year including Harvest Festival, Christmas Nativities, book looks, IPC topic events, Sports Days, Spring Concerts, Music concerts and more
