Chamber Choir  

The Chamber Choir sing alongside the choristers at least twice a year – at cathedral services and the Lord Mayor’s Show. In the last 12 months the chamber choir have performed at St Bart’s Great Hall, 200 Aldersgate, Royal London Hospital, and at carol services for various societies and livery companies around the City of London. They also provided voices for Sky Drama’s the Midwich Cuckoos.   

Wrens Choir  

The school’s second choir. They also perform at many events throughout the year: the choral festival, at the Ash Wednesday service in the Cathedral and various carol services for Livery companies in the City of London. Rehearsals are every Monday (8.00am) 

Bread Street Choir  

Bread Street Choir is the school’s third choir. Pupils who show promise in Junior Choir start singing harmony in this choir. They perform at the School Carol Service in the cathedral, the choral festival and usually at one external event each year. They rehearse on Wednesday mornings at 8.10 am. 

Junior Choir  

This choir is open to all pupils in yrs 3-4. They perform approximately 3 times a year, with at least one performance being outside of school and at the school carol service in the cathedral. They rehearse on Wednesday mornings at 8.10 am. 

Pre-prep choirs

There are two pre-prep choirs and they are open to any pupils in yr 1 (Tuesdays at 8.50am) and yr 2 (Wednesdays at 8.50am).

Orchestra 

The School’s orchestra is made up of 30-35 players ranging from grade 4-8. They perform twice a year in school and also at the Joint London Choir Schools Day. Last year they performed at St Bart’s Great Hall and St Giles Cripplegate. Recent repertoire: Danse Bacchanale - Saint-Saens;  Ballet from Petite Suite - Debussy; Excepts from Nutcracker – Tchaikovsky; Finlandia – Sibelius 

Senior Strings   

For pupils at grades 5-8, this group is for the top string players in school. They perform at school concerts and also for events in and around the City of London. They rehearse every Friday at 8.40am 

Junior Strings   

This group is for pupils at grades 1-3 and is normally their first experience playing in an ensemble. Last year they performed at St Bart’s Great Hall. They rehearse every Tuesday at 8.00am 

Intermediate Strings   

This group is for pupils at grades 3-4 who are almost ready for senior orchestra. Last year they performed at St Bart’s Great Hall as well as all school concerts. They rehearse every Tuesday at 8.40am 

Senior Brass Ensemble   

For brass players at grades 4-7, this group perform at school concerts, outdoor Christmas events and the annual Live! In the Churchyard Jazz festival in the City. They rehearse every Thursday at 8.00am. 

Wind Band  

For woodwind and brass players of any standard, this group performs at school concerts, outdoor Christmas events and the annual Live! In the Churchyard Jazz festival in the City. They rehearse every Thursday at 8.00am. 

Guitar Ensemble  

This group is for guitarists of all standards (grade 1+). Last year they performed at St Bart’s Great Hall as well as all school concerts. They rehearse every Monday at 4.00pm. 

Percussion Ensemble 

This group is open to all in years 4-8 (not just percussion specialists). Last year they performed at St Bart’s Great Hall as well as all school concerts.  They rehearse every Wednesday at 4.00pm
